Without Variety, Life Can't Have Full Play
Language is the indication of the social existence of a group, the record of the soul in thought, and the psyche remains behind and improves its spirit in real life. In this way, it is here that the peculiarities and utilities of variety might be most promptly seized, more than in simple outward things; yet these bits of insight are significant in light of the fact that they apply similarly to the thing which it communicates and represents and fills in as an instrument.
Variety of language merits keeping since a variety of societies and separation of soul-bunches are valuable … without that variety, life can't have a full play; for in that frame of mind there is a risk, very nearly a certainty of decline and stagnation.
The vanishing of public variety into a solitary uniform
human solidarity, of which the efficient mastermind dreams as an ideal and
which we have seen to be a significant change and, surprisingly, a probability
on the off chance that a specific propensity becomes prevailing, could prompt
political harmony, monetary prosperity, wonderful organization, the arrangement
of 100 material issues, as did on a lesser scale the Roman solidarity in bygone
eras; however to what possible great assuming that it drives likewise to uncreative disinfection of the brain and the stagnation of the spirit of the
race?
In laying this weight on culture, on the things of the brain
and the soul there need be no expectation of underestimating the outward
material side of life; it isn't by any stretch of the imagination my motivation
to put down that to which Nature generally connects so unyielding a
significance. Going against the norm, the internal and the external rely on one
another. For we see that in the existence of a country, an extraordinary time
of public culture and lively mental and soul life is in every case part of a
general mixing and development, which has its partner in the outward political,
financial and pragmatic existence of the country.
The social achieves or increments material advancement, yet
additionally, it needs it that it might itself thrive with a totally full and
sound force. The harmony, prosperity, and settled request of the human world is
a thing famously to be wanted as a reason for extraordinary world culture,
in which all mankind should be joined together; yet neither of these
solidarities, the outward or internal, should be without any trace of a
component significantly more significant than harmony, request, and prosperity -
opportunity and energy of life, which must be guaranteed by variety and by the
opportunity of the gathering and of the person. Not then uniform solidarity,
not a coherently basic, a deductively unbending, a wonderfully flawless and
mechanical similarity, however a living unity brimming with sound opportunity
and variety is the ideal which we ought to keep in view and endeavor to get
acknowledged in man's future.
